Tried and True Finish

To care for wood finished with Tried & True, dust with a soft cloth, wipe spills immediately, use coasters/trivets for hot items, and maintain consistent humidity; clean with wood-specific cleaners like Murphy's Oil Soap or reapply thin coats of the finish for repairs, always buffing between applications for a lasting sheen. Always follow the manufacturer’s label for application and cleanup.

Daily/Regular Care

  • Dust: Use a soft, clean cloth or feather duster with minimal pressure.

  • Spills: Wipe up immediately with a slightly damp, soft cloth, following the wood grain.

  • Protect Surfaces: Use coasters, trivets, or felt pads under hot dishes, drinks, and heavy objects to prevent marks.

  • Environment: Keep furniture in an area with consistent temperature and humidity to prevent cracking or warping.

Cleaning & Rejuvenation

  • Mild Cleaning: Use wood-specific cleaners like Murphy's Oil Soap for general cleaning.

  • Dull Areas: Polish dull spots with a soft chamois cloth or a clean, soft cloth.

  • Reapplication (Repair): For scratches or water marks, buff the area with 0000 steel wool, apply a thin coat of Tried & True Original Finish, let it penetrate, then buff dry.

  • Deep Rejuvenation: Apply another thin coat of the finish, allow it to cure (24 hours), and burnish with 0000 steel wool for deeper sheen and protection.

  • Always follow the manufacturer’s label for application and cleanup.
