Minwax Paste
Finishing Wax
To care for wood finished with Minwax Paste Finishing Wax, dust with a soft cloth, avoid water/harsh cleaners, and reapply thin coats annually or as needed for protection and shine, buffing well after each application for a smooth, protective sheen, while keeping the piece away from extreme heat or humidity. Always follow the manufacturer’s label for application and cleanup.
Daily/Regular Care
Dusting: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to dust regularly.
Gentle Cleaning: For marks, use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth with a little mild soap, but be prepared to re-wax the spot if cleaning compromises the finish.
Avoid: Do not use liquid furniture polishes or cleaners, as they can strip the wax.
Always follow the manufacturer’s label for application and cleanup.
Re-Waxing & Maintenance
Frequency: Reapply a thin layer of wax annually, or as the finish dulls.
Application: Apply a very thin, even coat with a clean cloth or applicator, working it in with a circular motion.
Drying: Let it dry for 10-30 minutes (or as directed).
Buffing: Buff vigorously with a clean, soft cloth or buffing pad until you achieve a smooth shine; more buffing creates more shine.
Crevices: Use a small brush to get wax into crevices and buff.
Always follow the manufacturer’s label for application and cleanup.
Repairs & Protection
Scratches/Nicks: Apply a small amount of wax to the area, let it cure (about 24 hours), and buff.
Curing: Allow fresh wax to cure undisturbed for about 30 days for maximum protection.
Environment: Keep furniture away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight, as wood moves and wax can be compromised.
Always follow the manufacturer’s label for application and cleanup.
